        TechGirls Mission

TechGirls is a non-profit organization focused on overcoming the gender disparity in computing fields through workshops, programs, and exposure to computing careers. Currently, only 14% of software engineers are female and 18% of computer science degrees belong to women. Our mission is to encourage females, especially from underserved areas and underrepresented communities, to explore computing fields by providing meaningful opportunities for girls to create with technology.

      • TechGirls CodeFest

        Saturday, March 12th from 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

        -

The TechGirls CodeFest is a one-day event for middle school students designed to give an introduction to artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and mobile app development with a focus on social entrepreneurship. Participants will leave the program with a greater knowledge of a variety of fields within the technology industry and a deeper understanding of some of the fastest-growing sectors. Program participants will create solutions to global issues and be put in the shoes of technology entrepreneurs, allowing them to explore the possible career path of creating their own technology company. This process will empower program participants to pursue future endeavors in the computing field by providing a toolset for learning and exploration. Through this hands-on experience, students will better understand the relevance of computer science in their own lives and the world.
